This past week has seen Brazilian street artist Marcelo Pax visit Barcelona and cover our streets with his playful work.
Marcelo hails from Porto Alegre in the south of Brazil and appears to be on a bit of a European tour at the moment as he has posted some pics of his work in Lisbon recently on his Instagram page.
Both the pieces shown here are full of geometric shapes, vibrant colours, fun little characters and are just fun to look at. I imagine they are a lot of fun to create as well.
The piece below was a collaborative effort with fellow Porto Alegre born artist Host NSM. Host adapting his burner really nicely to fit with Marcelo’s style.
There are another couple of finished pieces I’ve not had the chance to check out yet (he’s been very productive) but wonderfully one of these is in a local hostel so we have something less ephemeral to remember his visit with.
South American artists tend to use a lot of colour, and use it so well. Very nice pieces.
