There was a quite crazy amount of goings on during POW WOW! Rotterdam weekend. From POW WOW! itself to the street art awards to skate tournaments there was something for everyone.
One of the events that I didn’t get to see live was an event called De Art Goot. The event was organised by Wooosh Rotterdam and was held on the Thursday and Friday. Wooosh brought together a group of local artists to transform the Koopgoot shopping street into an open air gallery.

The location of this temporary gallery made it a little hard to shoot all the pieces with so many Sunday shoppers going around but of course I persevered and did what I could. As usual I’ll chat about a couple of pieces and share pics of the rest.

First up is this piece from Fernando Leon. Leon is based in Holland but I’m pretty sure he is from Colombia originally. The artist makes pretty regular trips to Barcelona to paint so I’m quite familiar with his work. This piece is typical Fernando Leon, colourful, simplistic and relaxed. The characters all look like they are having a particularly lazy Sunday.

Next up is this piece from Dutch graffiti legend Oxalien. Oxalien is another artist who’s work I’m familiar with from Barcelona as he visited two years ago to paint at an graffiti jam. Oxalien’s work characters are colourful, fun and slightly murderous. I am a personally a big fan of this style, fun but with an edge.

This piece by Doodkonijin is another in the line of fun cartoon works with an edge. The artist paints a lot of cute but dark characters and for this one he has paired his skeleton bunny with the “Unicornster” Another fun eye catching piece.
Below are some more shots from the event, I have named the artists where I can, feel free to assist with naming some of them!
