Street art Lisbon #16

This is another of those walls that I wasn't looking for and didn't know existed but fortunately managed to find whilst strolling around Lisbon on a grey Sunday afternoon looking for a place to stop for something to drink. I love these types of finds, totally unexpected with no pressure to be going to a... Continue Reading →

Street art Lisbon #15

There's over five hundred murals gracing the walls of the various districts outside of Lisbon as part of Loures Arte Publica's mission to bring as much art to the area as possible. It's quite an overwhelming visual experience to be surrounded by so many huge murals and I only saw about a hundred never mind... Continue Reading →

Street art Lisbon #14

I was and still am amazed at the sheer amount of street art in Lisbon. Obviously there are the larger mural projects outside of the city which garner the majority of the attention and publicity but the city centre has so much great stuff going on as well. On my last Lisbon post I mentioned... Continue Reading →

Street art Lisbon #13

I've been digging through the Lisbon photo archives recently trying to get my drafts in order and found this piece lurking away in there. I don't really remember this one if I'm being honest, I think with there being so many huge murals outside of the city they maybe take a bit of the focus... Continue Reading →

Street art Lisbon #12

Snapping this piece required a little patience which is not something I am known for, especially after very little sleep and an early start. Thankfully I had just enough to wait for the sun to move sufficiently to the right to get a shadow free shot of this wall in Sacavem near the city of... Continue Reading →

Street art Lisbon #10

On my first day in Lisbon I got up at 7am (not unusual these days, must be getting old) and got myself on a bus and then a train and went to visit an area called Quinta do Mocha to go on what I thought would be a short-ish street art tour. Instead I spent... Continue Reading →

La Tabacalera #9

This is another slightly older piece from the outside walls of La Tabacalera, from late 2016 I believe. It's by the Portuguese artist Diogo Machado aka Add Fuel. The piece is called 'Flipped' and was done for Muros Tabacalera. It's pretty clear why the piece is named so with the armour wearing one eyed character hanging upside... Continue Reading →

Street art Lisbon #8

I've decided to share one of the slightly bigger pieces from Lisbon this week and take a short break from the smaller more centrally located street art I've shared previously. This piece, as I'm sure you've already figured out is by one of the biggest names in street art right now - Portuguese artist Bordalo II.... Continue Reading →

Street art Lisbon #7

This wall was one of those that could easily be missed whilst focussing on other things. I found this one whilst out of Lisbon checking out some pieces I had seen from the train window whilst on my way to Quinta do Mocho. Like Quinta the whole suburb is full of huge building sized murals... Continue Reading →

Street art Lisbon #6

It's been a while since I've done a street art Lisbon post so I've decided to share two walls in one post with this double header from Brazilian artist Utopia. The header piece is a collaborative one alongside Portuguese (I think) writer Nomen in the Calcada de Gloria open air art gallery in the heart of Lisbon's city... Continue Reading →
