Degon – Narcografix

I’ll be honest, I’m not always a fan of burners, I can take them or leave them a lot of the time but one artist who’s writing always catches my eye is Degon. The artist who comes from a town called Vic to the north of Barcelona is a regular presence on the streets and his pieces are always innovative and challenging.

Degon is from the NGFX (narcograffix) crew which hosts some seriously talented artists, guys like Jay Bisual and Jeff Bazak both of which I’m a huge fan of.

Degon’s writing is probably not what purists would call real graffiti writing but I’m sure he doesn’t care. There’s a real graphic design quality to his work, you’d expect to see this type of work drawn in photoshop more than you would the streets and that’s what I admire about it so much. Degon’s writing stands out from the crowd and is 100% his own. It’s constantly interesting and different and always makes me stop to take it all in.

  1. Really interesting style of burner. I have grown to like burners a lot…never imagined that would happen. I’m heading to Barcelona for a couple of days with my daughter over half term…any must-see Street art spots near the centre? I have not visited before.
