The Hate Lovers collective have recently opened a new show at Contorno Urbano‘s gallery space in the suburbs of Barcelona.
The group have called the show ‘partners in crime’ a not so sly wink to their late night graffiti activities. The title also gives a nod to their status as an all female artistic group.

I’ve mentioned the words group and collective a few times above but the Hate Lovers mixed things up a bit for the show. Instead of it being a true group show, the artists chose to split the galley into five sections.

Each area showcased an individual members work and shone a brighter light on the differing styles of each artist.

Each artist has a very individual style and it was interesting to see it all separated across the gallery space. On wall for example there was the Kawaii cartoon work of Nina which sat alongside the black and white portraits of Malicia.

On the opposite wall there was the cute but politically charged characters of Vegan Bunnies. Sitting to the right of VB were La Pelos perfectly coloured old school tattoo flashes.

The last section was saved for photographer Carmen Capta. Carmen’s black and white photo’s from late night graffiti adventures giving us a glimpse into the other world below ours.

The Hate Lovers ‘Partners in crime’ Exhibition is running until the 9th November at Contorno Urbano’s gallery, Carrer Garraf 31, L’Hospitalet, Barcelona until the 9th November.
