As the title gives away, this is the first of my new weekly project of sharing a recent piece from a legal wall in Barcelona.
There’s so much going on in the city that I just can’t find the time or space to write about it all so hopefully this will go some way to correcting that.
This first one is by blog favourite Mr M with this piece from a week or so ago in the Poblenou area of the city. Of course being a legal wall it didn’t last long, less than two days I think. Luckily enough for me my work is only one block away so I was able to get a few shots before it was buffed.
This piece is, of course, of Mr M’s favourite little monster characters. This time he’s painted two side by side, the green monster smiling away with its heart shaped tongue and the pink one looking all dopey with it’s sleepy eye and goofy teeth.
I like how the colours contrast with the light grey and purple background with all the little purple and white dots adding some depth to the piece. The dots remind me of snowfall, I’m not sure if this was Marc’s aim or not, probably not given his hatred for the cold. He must be thoroughly enjoying the weather in BCN right now…
