This week’s Wednesday wall features the work of an artist who’s pieces always get me on my feet and down to the wall as soon as I possibly can to get my shot before the inevitable buffing. I say that in full knowledge that I have just missed one of his latest pieces which was tagged with 24 hours of completion.
Saying that I would think that Conse’s work generally has a longer shelf life than most on the busy legal walls of Barcelona. I guess that other writers and artists have the same opinion as me, that Conse is one of the premier graffiti artists in Barcelona right now.
I’ve spoken to the artist briefly over social media and I’m not sure he feels the same way as me however. From those brief conversations, he seems to be pretty egoless and constantly striving to improve. I’m not sure how you can improve on a piece like this but I’m happy to watch him try
The piece itself is a hyper realistic portrait of a young black woman rocking a pair of shades and hoop earrings. The piece looks great when standing 20 feet away but when you get up close and see the fine details like the small piercing under characters mouth or her eyes that you can just see behind the shades then you realise you are looking at the work of an artist working at the top of his game.
Another incredible piece from an artist who I feel could be a ‘superstar’ of the street art world if he so chose.
